Mr. Chris Holmes has been named OPA's new Director of Student Services.
Mr. Holmes comes to OPA with over 28 years of experience as both a biology teacher and basketball coach. He has served for 8 years as a school administrator, including the last 4 in student services. He passionately believes that every student possesses their own unique skills, traits, and abilities that are aligned with their intelligence type(s).
He is the proud father of his son Ethan (UCLA c/o 24) and daughter Noelle (CSUF c/o 26) who are both passionate lifelong learners. Mr. Holmes is grateful for this opportunity to work with and serve the students and families of Oxford Preparatory Academy.
The Director of Student Services and Special Education oversees the administration, coordination, and supervision of all Special Education (Scholar Academy) and support services for students, including academic, behavioral, social, and emotional domains. Additionally, the position is responsible for Title I, after-school programs, homeless education, Language Development Programs, Student Services, Mental Health and Crisis Intervention, Guidance Services, Health Offices, and school safety.
