We are quickly coming up on Walk Through Time! Attached you will find the list for your group’s assignments and the cards. Please find your name on the list (it will either be once or twice). Once you have found your name respond to the question above with your team (Greece, Rome, Egypt) and your cards info. You can copy and paste directly from the card/cards as this is just to show you found your card.

Over the next few weeks you are to practice your card and work on memorization. Walk Through will be completely virtual but dressing up is still highly encouraged so feel free to start planning your costume if you are a character. We will check in weekly on your progress towards memorizing your cards!

I am providing parents the information so make sure and share with them who you character is or what your words are!

Complete the attached Character Sketch based on what you picture as your main character for your historical narrative.

Follow the directions on each slide. There are multiple verisons, delete what you don't need. You should finish with:

You may chose any notable person in African American History. If you have an idea but you aren't sure ASK!

During class today you will be guided to research a time period/setting for your historical narrative. To show that you have completed research please attach slides or a google document with the information you have gathered.

It is important to research what is going to apply to your story:
--How they lived....
--How they dressed...
--Events that were happening around your main event...
Don't forget we are not driving a Tesla with our Iphone ProMax is 2001

Make corrections to the paragraph in the slide attached. We will review answers at the start of class.

As you study for your figurative language quiz provide an example for each of the following types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, personification, idiom, hyperbole, alliteration , onomatopoeia .

You will read each lyric section and identify what figurative language is use. You will then pick four of your own songs and provide those lyrics and identify the figurative language.

Make corrections to the paragraph in the slide attached. We will review answers at the start of class.

You must finish observations and interpretations for at least two of the pictures.

A couple questions repeat themselves. For that reason all scores will be entered into Aeries out of 36 meaning you won't get punished for missing the same question twice. If you score a 37/36 it will still be entered as 36/36 not extra credit.

This is for you to attach your working document for the taking the stand narrative. We will eventually submit our final draft to this same assignment!

You will need to have both the narrative rubric below open and your narrative document. When your narrative rubric has been completed by the peer editors on all sections you can submit.

Create a cover for an issue of Dig It! magazine, highlighting the archaeological discoveries made at Mohenjodaro. Your cover must include these elements:

• the title of the magazine (Dig It!) and an imaginative subtitle
• visuals of three artifacts
• brief captions that explain what each artifact reveals about daily life in Mohenjodaro
• any other colorful and creative touches that make the cover more realistic

Attach a google document and complete a "Quick-Write". At the beginning of the unit intro you were asked the following questions:

Have you ever felt that you or someone else was treated unfairly? Perhaps you were accused of something you didn’t do. Or maybe you witnessed a classmate being teased by another student in the hallway in between classes. When you experienced an injustice, did you feel the need to stand up for yourself or for another person? What motivated you to take a stance? Did your actions result in a positive outcome?

In an organized format explain how you connect to this topic of facing challenges, it can be your own experience, or something you've read about or witnessed.

Quick-Writes should be continuous writing during the time you are provided. It is not a "minimum" or "maximum" but about what you can write and produce in the time you are given.

As an introduction to our new unit read the information provided and answer the blast.

You are going to find a way to present your knowledge about a specific event or person from Ancient Israelite history. You will have about an hour or more of class-time to complete the assignment and may continue in the afternoon if you'd like.

Some ways that you could present your knowledge are: a video (be creative (an interview, a flashback?), a song (you can make song about the topic), a poster (digital or handmade), google slides, etc. If you have an idea to present your info, ask!

Some topics or people you might select (you can go beyond this): Abraham, Moses, The Ten Commandments, Babylonian Captivity, Jacob, Joseph, Solomon, David, Saul.

Make sure you explain the event or person, time period, importance in history, etc. You can do additional research, but keep it limited.

This should show your KNOWLEDGE and is a great way to bring up struggling Social Studies grades on the last day of the trimester. If your project goes above and beyond you may be able to earn over 100%.

Think about the selections you have read that involve life-changing experiences. Write an informative/explanatory essay in which you explain how three individuals in three of the excerpts you have read faced life-changing experiences, and analyze the impact of these changes on their lives and their countries.

Read the passages and use the information to answer the questions. This should be similar to what you already have in your notes. :)

As we did last time you will use this Peer Review document to share with each of the people who complete your Peer Review. They will add your scores and feedback and you will submit when they complete the review.

Children’s Book: Create a kid friendly (picture) book, with simple sentence explanations that could be read to a student grades K-3. Requirement: At least 10 pages.


Trailer/Preview: Create a trailer for your book, like the ones you see in Studysync before we read an excerpt. This should get someone interested in reading your book and display your knowledge of the material. Requirement: Between 2 minutes 30 seconds to 5 minutes.


In The News! – create the front page of a newspaper that tells about events and characters in the book. The newspaper page might include weather reports, and editorial or editorial cartoon, ads, etc. The title of the newspaper should be something appropriate to the book. Requirement: at least one image, an interview with a character, a description of your setting, and a major event.

As part of your assignment you are required to create a comprehension quiz and provide an answer key for your quiz. Your quiz must have all the following requirements.
